The Adidas Manchester United 2015–16 Home Jersey marked the beginning of a major new chapter at Old Trafford. The 2015–16 season was United’s first back with Adidas after more than two decades, ending the club’s long Nike era. The previous Adidas partnership had ended after the 1991–92 season, making this one of the more significant modern United shirts.

Adidas leaned heavily into that history when creating the design. The classic red, white and black color combination was paired with white three stripes across the shoulders, a white V-neck and broad white sleeve cuffs. Subtle horizontal tonal striping runs through the red body, giving the shirt texture without moving away from United’s traditional look. The large Chevrolet sponsor sits beneath the embroidered Adidas logo and Manchester United crest.

The design was specifically influenced by United’s 1982 Adidas home shirt, connecting the new partnership to the Bryan Robson era rather than simply introducing an entirely new identity. The season itself ended with Manchester United lifting the FA Cup, defeating Crystal Palace 2–1 after extra time at Wembley. It was also the breakthrough season for Marcus Rashford, while Wayne Rooney captained a squad featuring Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, David de Gea and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
