This special-edition shirt was created to celebrate the enduring connection between Napoli and Diego Maradona, the player who transformed the club during the 1980s. Maradona led Napoli to their first two Serie A titles, a Coppa Italia, and UEFA Cup success, becoming the most revered figure in club history.  

Following Maradona’s death on November 25, 2020, Napoli wore this tribute shirt in a memorable 4–0 victory over Roma. The design had reportedly been conceived before his passing, but its release became an emotional tribute to his legacy.
