The Nike FC Barcelona 2017–18 Third Vapor Match Authentic Jersey is the elite player-spec version of Barça’s striking Night Maroon third kit. Built to the same performance standard as the shirts designed for the first team, the Vapor Match construction uses Nike’s AeroSwift technology, combining an athletic slim cut with engineered ventilation, increased stretch and lightweight mobility.

Visually, this became one of the standout alternate kits of the late Messi era. The deep Night Maroon base is covered in subtle geometric graphics incorporating mosaic-inspired elements associated with Barcelona’s architecture, while Hyper Crimson detailing explodes across the shoulders and sleeves. Barça officially described the shirt as combining the club’s identity with contemporary detailing and AeroSwift performance technology.

The 2017–18 campaign also marked Rakuten’s first season as Barcelona’s primary shirt sponsor. Lionel Messi led a squad featuring Luis Suárez, Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitić, with Barça ultimately winning La Liga and the Copa del Rey. This third kit debuted in the Champions League away to Sporting CP on September 27, 2017.

The Authentic version is especially desirable because it differs from the standard supporter shirt in its performance construction. The Vapor Match version uses a closer athletic fit, flexible ventilation elements and lightweight technical fabric intended to replicate the on-field specification.
